Signed novel by Kirsten Hobbs

The Passions and Perils of the Insatiably Hungry is local author Kirsten Hobbs’ debut novel.  Adrian's had it with the humiliation of home: the belching van, the sadistic rooster, and her father's endless exhibition of sweat pants and blazers. Taking refuge in the kitchen, Adrian crafts crumpets and cupcakes, getting a taste for what she really wants in life. Though she can't afford the culinary school of her dreams, Adrian decides any escape will do. But leaving home isn't a cure-all; there are new relationships that torment and change her. She finds that infatuations can turn sour and ambition can burn, leaving a painful void where he used to be. Through it all, Adrian learns that humor is often the best recipe to overcome heartache. And when all else fails, there are tarts.

About the donor: Kirsten Hobbs is a writer (novelist and blogger), baker (of all things delicious), mother (of four adorable boys) and maker (she can craft something cool out of anything).  She is also a BYU alumna. You can see her work at: http://kirstenjoyhobbs.weebly.com

Running Into the Wind: 5 Strategies for Building a Successful Team

There is no other collegiate football program in the world like the one found at Brigham Young University. None. Certainly that has much to do with the fact that the school is the largest religious university in the United States, owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But perhaps there is an even more unique differentiator - a head football coach who is unwavering in his unorthodox style of mentoring, strengthening, teaching, and even recuiting his players. Bronco Mendenhall's coaching style is considered jaw-dropping by many and ludicrous to some. However, no one can overlook the success the Cougars have had. How does his team consistently win ten or more games year after year? What philosophy and practices did Bronco implement to create this sustained success?  This copy is hardbound and signed by all three authors.  This book may be a collector’s item soon as Bronco has coached his last season at BYU!

About the donor: Alyson Von Feldt is one of the co-authors of this book. Alyson has worked on organizational designs in both the profit and non-project sectors. She also writes and customizes design materials for individual organizations. She has a master’s in organizational behavior from BYU and serves on the BYU Alumni Kansas City Chapter Board.
